Erik Seidel 曾经是西洋双陆棋戏的职业玩家，也在华尔街当过商人。Seidel首次进入大型锦标赛的钱圈就与Johnny Chan进行单挑。他们对决的那局牌被电影《赌王之王》引用。8 K$ t" V+ M( I1 w- i
. T- B- u9 d) N5 e. I Erik Seidel出生于纽约。Erik在20世纪70年代也就是他17-18岁的时候开始专心于西洋棋并能靠这个赚取日常花费。他进入布鲁克林大学，在拿到学位之后计划找一个“真正的”工作，但是有时“真正的”工作是令人腻烦的。西洋棋就让他忙碌起来，他非常喜欢参加锦标赛。后来Erik被朋友介绍去做股票贸易。* ], O4 a6 v1 t

1992年，Erik在$2500有限hold';em比赛的中赢得他的第一个WSOP金手链。接下来的两年里，每年他都获得了一个手链，拿下了Omaha$2500比赛和接下来的1994年$5,000有限hold';em比赛。胜利让他决定离开纽约，到一个玩牌更容易的地方去，他劝服了他的妻子Ruah搬到了赌城拉斯维加斯。

Erik最近的一条 WSOP 手镯获得于2007年，他在 $5K World Championship No-Limit Deuce-to-Seven Lowball 赛事中取得了胜利。八条手镯让他在 WSOP 手镯历史榜上与其他玩家并列第5名，而60次获得 WSOP 奖金则使他与其他玩家并列第4名。
